A virtual conference hosted by University of Ottawa

About PROGECT

As the fourth gathering of the International Progect Network and the first to be held in North America, the aim of this conference is to unite scholars who conduct research on a wide diversity of progressive rock and metal styles from the 1960s to the present. The two musical strands—progressive rock and progressive metal—share common origins; however, from the 1980s onward, they evolved independently of one another. This conference will merge and deepen the scholarly understandings of these two musical genealogies and cast light upon their significant cultural attributes.

This conference is hosted by Lori Burns, University of Ottawa.
